Welcome to L’Arche Ottawa, one of 150 faith-based communities in 37 countries where men and women — with and without disabilities — live together in shared faith and with the belief that together we are stronger.
“What we have to do is find the places of hope,” our founder Jean Vanier has said of L’Arche and its mission, which began 51 years ago in Trosly, France.
Hope resides in our six Ottawa homes where friendship, courage and resilience live in and lift our 30 core members and 18 assistants.

You are invited to join us
as we celebrate our 45 years as community on September 9th at 3 pm at St Basil's Parish (940 Rex Avenue). On this day, we will remember our history, and look into the future, as we announce the theme of our next year!
The celebration will include music, a video of community members taken during our retreat, a reflection on the theme of the year, and blowing the candles all together on our anniversary cake (made by the Garnobe Seniors' Club!). A mass will follow at 5 pm.
The Growing In The Mission photo exhibit will be displayed in the arthex at St Basil's.

Nous désirons vous inviter à mieux connaitre L’Arche Ottawa. Nous sommes une des 150 communautés dans 37 pays dans lesquelles, hommes et femmes - avec ou sans déficience intellectuelle - partagent leur vie ensemble.
« Ce que nous devons faire est de trouver les lieux d'espérance, » a dit notre fondateur Jean Vanier en parlant de L'Arche et de sa mission, qui a commencé il y a 51 ans à Trosly, en France.
On retrouve cette espérance dans les six foyers de L'Arche Ottawa, où 50 personnes avec et sans déficience intellectuelle, vivent ensemble. Elles partagent l'espoir, l'amitié, le courage.

Nous vous invitons
à célébrer avec nous nos 45 ans de communauté le 9 septembre, de 15h à 17h à l'église St. Basil's (940 ave. Rex). Notre anniversaire nous donne l'occasion de partager nos souvenirs et nos rêves pour l'avenir et nous annoncerons notre thème pour la prochaine année!
La fête comprendra de la musique, une vidéo de notre retraite communautaire, une réflexion sur le thème de l'année et un gâteau, créé par le Garnobe Club!. Une messe suivra à 17 heures.
Une exposition de photos sera affichée dans l'arthex de l'église St Basil.
